Hi All,
Rusty here. Below you will see two pictures of my first day with Mommy!. I turn seven years old on Thursday. In October, 2009, Mommy picked me up at the pet store. She had never had a doggie before. As you can see, as a baby Shih Tzu I had hair in my eyes. I enjoyed her yard and Fall leaves. Most of all I loved all the hugs! We spent the next few winter months potty training in a very rough winter.

Rusty enjoying a beautiful day!
Rusty here! What a beautiful day! We just visited my best friend Pierre the poodle on his screened porch. They have a doggie door. I can go out in yard when I want without leash. I like that freedom. I usually stay close to mom though. I only take short trips to yard. I take cere of her you know!

The cat from next door!
Rusty here. I have been in this window all afternoon watching my neighbor's cat. It just left. It was sitting on my porch just in sight. I wanted to play with it. I barked and it did not seem scared. Mom said cats usually don't want to play tug or ball. Maybe it will come back tomorrow! Mom said if I go out to meet it I will need to stay on a short leash. I don't know what that means.

She is back!
Rusty here. Uh oh ! She is back! I will act like I was not napping on cool floor! I will act like I was waiting for her! She will never know. A boy has to get rest when he can.

A hot day for Rusty the Shih Tzu
Rusty
here. It has finally turned summer. I am considering a nap on the
cool tile floor. I refused my last walk. I know she was upset. It was
just too hot. She went out for a walk alone when I would not budge.
Sorry Mom! Enjoy!

Close to wolves!
Mom recently read an article that Shih Tzus were the closest breed to wolves in the wild!
Wow! Do I look that wild? I do growl when playing with my rope. I do hear everything at night. Can jump up from a sound sleep and spot the dogs in the neighborhood I don't like. I guess there are
quite a few of them. I don't like the large ones. Those of you that have known me over the years would be surprised at how calm I have become! More later.....Rusty here.

Musings about mid-winter blues!
Hi Rusty here. I have been absent from this blog for several weeks with the mid-winter blues. There is nothing to do but look out the window. She has to clean my window off daily because I leave greasy breath stains on the window pane and orange foot prints on the sill. This morning it was 6 degrees. I had to wear my dog sweater. I don't even fight that anymore. Hopefully just a few more weeks. She got my hair cut Friday. Go figure! Now I get really cold. I will touch base more often since spring is not far off.

Rusty the Shih Tzu is home from Key West
Hi ! It is Rusty here. I am home! This is me at the Key West airport yesterday. Of course I had to get in carrier for flight We sat by a lady that thought dogs should not be on airplanes. Mom told her I had a ticket that was paid for just like her. I was so good and did not make one sound! The lady kept mashing her foot into side of my soft carrier. I did not make one noise though. Mom said that I was a gentleman. I did have fun. Lots of people and new smells. I also got to swim .
